On December 21, 2017, the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights received a request for precautionary measures. Prepara Familia and Cecodap urged the adoption of the necessary measures to protect the rights to life and personal integrity of the children who were in the José Manuel de los Ríos Hospital, for being at serious risk due to their state of health .

On February 21, 2018, after analyzing the petition, the Commission demanded that the State comply with the following resolutions:

RESOLUTION
Adopt the necessary measures to guarantee the life, personal integrity and health of the girls and boys who are patients in the Nephrology area of the José Manuel de los Ríos Hospital in Caracas.

RESOLUTION
Adopt the necessary measures to ensure that the health and safety conditions of the Nephrology area where the children are located are adequate.

RESOLUTION
Arrange the measures to be implemented with the beneficiaries and their representatives.

RESOLUTION
Report on the actions taken to investigate the events that led to the adoption of this resolution and thus avoid their repetition.
